It is SWLL policy and that of Little League and Wall Township, that all volunteers must be properly screened and approved.  The SWLL Safety Officer will post a list of approved coaches on our website.

Anyone who will be on the field with our players must complete the process outlined below.

1. Registration
   
   • Check off the volunteer box while registering your child. Although, you do not need to be a parent to volunteer.
   • Once you have checked off that you want to volunteer and it has been verified, you will receive an email from JDP that will look similar to this, please complete in a timely fashion:
     
   
   
2. Wall Township Parks and Recreation Background Check

3. Safety Class
   • The volunteer must attend Safety Training.  There are two options:
     • Rutgers Volunteer Safety Class
       • Currently nothing scheduled for Wall Twp
     • Wall Township Safety Training
       • Thursday, March 25 @ 7:00 PM
       • Wall Intermediate School Cafeteria - 2801 Allaire Rd, Wall Township, NJ 07719
       • There is no cost for this training and the certificate is valid for 2 years.

       • Once you register, you will receive an email with the Zoom link for the meeting.  That is to be used the evening of the clinic.
       • There is no cost for this training but there are only 1,000 openings, so if you would like to do this, register early and only ONCE.
4. CDC CONCUSSION COURSE
   • Every year you will need to take the CDC Concussion Course and submit your certification of completion to [email protected].
   • ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST TAKE THE CONCUSSION TRAINING, REGARDLESS IF YOU HAVE TAKEN THE RUTGERS SAFETY CLASS.
5. Abuse Awareness Training (New for 2025)
   •  New for 2025 and going forward all volunteers need to complete the Abuse Awareness Training and submit your certification of completion to [email protected].

The guidelines we follow for background checks and safety are dictated by NJ State statute, Township ordinance and Little League regulation.
